Amora Freire Leite, LMFT
Marriage and Family Therapist at the Nashville Office
A quote that informs my work is by Victor Hugo: “What makes night within us may leave stars." We sometimes may lose our sense of direction in life and feel that we are stuck in the darkness. You do not deserve to sit alone with your pain. Therapy can be a safe harbor from which to slow down and cast a light in our internal life and experiences and, within ourselves, find ways to live a more fulfilling life. In our work together, I can help you find your inner lighthouse and guide your way to self-discovery and finding answers to life’s challenges from a place of clarity, intentionality and confidence. I believe in each person's capacity to find the way to a brighter and more meaningful life. I draw from client-centered, humanist, attachment and relational therapies, and I bring a trauma-informed care approach to my work with clients. I utilize somatic based interventions and Brainspotting to help clients develop self-compassion and expand their ability to find calmness, joy, and meaning in the present moment.
Clinical Experience
I have experience helping adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, and relational issues. I have also helped children and adolescents with diverse cultural backgrounds live life more fully after experiences of trauma. I am passionate about helping clients move toward self-awareness and psychological health.
Clinical Specialties
My areas of clinical interest include developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, parenting, issues related to being a highly sensitive person, self-worth and phase of life issues. I bring an integrative approach to therapy that includes client-centered, humanist, emotionally focused, attachment and relational therapies and also a trauma informed perspective to my work with clients.
