Hi, I’m Jacob.

One thing I’ve learned from working with clients is how much strength people carry, even when they don’t feel it. I often work with people who underestimate how much insight and strength they already carry. With the right guidance and support, those internal resources can become clearer and more accessible.

I believe many people already have more tools than they realize—sometimes they simply need revising, reframing, or practicing in a way that actually fits their lives. Therapy, to me, is a collaborative process that balances reflection, validation, and gentle challenge, helping you better understand yourself while also creating space for meaningful change.

I pay close attention not only to what’s shared in session, but also to what’s avoided or difficult to put into words. Therapy isn’t always easy, but it should feel safe and steady. My goal is to offer an environment where hard moments can be approached with care and curiosity, so growth feels possible without feeling forced.

Clinical Experience

I have worked with a wide range of client concerns, including personality disorders, relationship difficulties, and the lasting impact of childhood trauma. My experience has taught me that while people’s struggles may look different on the surface, many share similar patterns of pain, resilience, and the desire to feel understood.

Prior to entering the therapy field, I spent several years working in the service industry and in various musical projects, including mastering work for independent artists. Working closely with musicians, I saw how deeply important self-expression is—especially when someone hasn’t yet found a clear way to articulate it. That experience taught me the value of adapting my approach to everyone rather than relying on generic, one-size-fits-all solutions. I believe meaningful work comes from understanding what makes someone unique, not simply doing what “gets the job done.”

Clinical Specialties

I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety and emotional dysregulation, with a focus on building distress tolerance and practical coping strategies. I also work extensively with individuals and couples seeking to improve their relationships, particularly around communication, boundaries, and conflict.

My approach emphasizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to move each client towards living a life that is in alignment with their values. I also use Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to better understand emotional needs, reduce reactivity, and foster more respectful and connected relationships. Whether clients are navigating anxiety, relational stress, or patterns that feel difficult to shift, my goal is to support meaningful change that feels sustainable and authentic.
